I met up with Haylee this week to capture her 2012 face! What a beautiful face it is too We had a great time hanging out by the tracks and soaking in the sun.

Abby {Seniors}

I met up with the beautiful Abby this week to take some Senior pictures for her! We had a great time enjoying this gorgeous AZ spring weather. It was a perfect afternoon for some photography! Abby the camera loves you girl, you look stunning!

Harper Family Session

I have been putting off this blog post for awhile because there is just so much I want to say about this lovely family. I fear I am not going to adequately describe how wonderful they are. How Jim’s ministry has touched so many lives, including my own. How Jim was my high school pastor and put up with all my boy drama and pointed me back to God again and again and how I might not have met my husband were it not for him introducing us. Jim’s ministry extended into my extended family as well. When my aunt was dying from cancer he took the time to lead a weekly bible study with her and my parents so “Church” could come to her. I want to talk about what an incredible Mom and wife Merlie is. How I see “love” in action when I watch her with her daughter. Watching her care for her and help her put her hair up. Merlie has laid down her life for her daughter and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Then Amanda. Surely words will not be adequate to describe this full of life, passionate, God fearing young woman. A woman who, although suffers greatly and often daily, praises God and gives Him glory in the midst of it all. So for these reasons and many more I have put off this post. I can’t do it any longer! Meet the beautiful Harper family.

Amanda really wanted some family photo’s before they all left for Spokane, where Jim would begin a new ministry. Arizona, although not their first home, has been home for quite some time. To say they are going to be missed is an understatement.

See Amanda and I had this session scheduled back in December. She called me the day before because she had begun feeling ill. I, at the time, was sick myself and without a voice so we agreed to re-schedule. The re-schedule date never happened. The day after that call Merlie woke up to find Amanda not breathing. A 911 call and a sequence of very scary events ended Amanda up in ICU for a couple weeks I absolutely can’t imagine finding my daughter not breathing. Oh my heart just sunk into my chest when I got word of all that happened and that Amanda was in ICU. Myself, and countless other saints prayed for her restoration. God was so kind and Amanda was able to return home for a quick recovery stay before moving to Spokane. I was elated when my phone rang and it was Amanda wondering if we could sneak in and fast session before they left. To keep things simple and easy in light of everything we went out and took pictures in the backyard of the house they were staying in. This beautiful ficus tree suited us well! These next set of pictures brought tears to my eyes thinking of all this sweet girl and her parents have been through.
This is a classic Jim “look” I just had to put this one in. Jim was such a good sport. I could tell it was the highlight of his day to have his pictures taken But he put it up with me and the camera. I enjoyed making it take just a “little” longer then maybe it needed to just because I know how much he enjoyed it Amanda, the joy of the Lord SHINES through you. What an example you are to so many.
Merlie you are stunning. Truly stunning. The Harpers invited Merlie’s brother and family to join in for some pictures too.
You can tell these two cousins are close…. they were laughing, finishing each other’s sentences all afternoon and they both have long, gorgeous hair!

Well Harper’s thank you so much for inviting me in to take these last AZ photo’s. More then that, thank you for the investment you have made in my life and the lives of so many! Spokane is truly blessed to have you there. You will be missed.

B&W I Heart Faces

Before I add a couple new sessions to the blog I wanted to share this picture I took almost a year ago at my Grandma’s graveside service. Oh how I miss her!! After singing Amazing Grace I stepped back to watch my father and uncles receive an American flag for her years of service in WW2. It was such a beautiful moment and reminded me again of how grateful I am for so many who serve our great country.

Newborn Macy

Last week I had the privilege of taking some pictures for my friend’s newest baby. This is number four for her. But you would never know by looking at her! She’s the kind of girl that loses all the baby weight the moment she gives birth and has freshly baked (delicious I might add) muffins when you arrive to take pictures. How do you do it Erin!? Tell us your secret Erin thank you for your friendship and thank you for how you inspire me on my own journey of motherhood.

This little girl was born to be a mother. You should see the way she holds and soothes her sister. It is quite impressive!

“N” Family Session

I always get excited when asked to photography families with little ones. Especially the 2-4 yr range. Sounds crazy huh? Do I get a little nervous? Well yes, they can be a bit unpredictable…. but oh so much fun! I never know what I’m going to get going into a session with toddlers but I have yet to walk away disappointed from the results. I was looking forward to this session with not one but two toddlers. I believe this is their first set of family photo’s as a family of four. What a honor to be the one behind the camera!

Here are a few of my favorites from the day…
What keeps these two sitting still for a moment…. singing! They love to sing!!
Sweet brother/sister love! More sweetness! Sweetness gone a little to far….

2011 Favorite Face

When I have extra time, which feels like never these days, I enjoy entering I heart faces challenges and see what other work photographers are putting out. It’s so inspiring! So this week’s contest is best face of 2011. I know it’s potentially biast to post a photo of my own child. But I thought since I just showed you all my favorites from my clients this past year I would show you a fav from my own family.

I love this girly. This is how I will remember most when I look back at her first year of life. A teethy, scrunched up nose grin.

This has been an amazing year for Tara d photography. The most successful year to date. Thank you all for entrusting your moments, little faces and families to me. It has truly been my joy!

Ostafin Family

Driving out to meet up with this family it was pouring rain and the sun was nowhere in sight. It didn’t look good. Rain or shine this session was going to happen. This is the last time they will all be in one state for awhile. Forget state, together in one country, for awhile. One set of this family is moving back to Europe! Thankfully God answered my prayer, as I much prefer shine for pictures then rain, and we only felt a few raindrops towards the end.

I have a feeling this little girl was quite loved on during her stay in AZ over the holidays Ah Auntie Stacey…. I know you are going to miss your brother, sister-in-law, and your precious niece very much. Hopefully these pictures will help some. At least you have these three precious faces to love on I just love these gorgeous, tender-hearted, children!
